What Makes It Awesome

Famous for the Golden temple and the Jalianwala Bagh massacre, you would find a very peaceful and different aura there.

Not so far from Amritsar railway junction, one can easily route to the road. The outside area of the place would look like you are walking in Paris streets, but of course in India. As soon as you enter there, would find a beautiful and breathtaking view of the Gurudwara surrounded by a huge pond which has actual golden fish btw.

Do not forget to attend their langar, it's delicious, and the ice tea, just in there on the Nestle stalls ( only around INR 20, I mean, you got to be kidding me?). It's tastes so good and soothing altogether and one shot would not do justice.

Oh! while you are in the city, just don't miss the event happened there at 6 in the evening, in the Wagah Border. ( Yep the famous borderline between the two countries, i.e. India and Pakistan that one could find mostly in patriotic Bollywood movies). It's around an hour or so the journey from Amritsar

The parade there is one hell of the experience, and must not be missed. You can reach there via local buses or autos. Your seats would be determined on a first come first served basis. And you would get lucky if you get their VIP passes ( which is not that easy), but you have to be there in any case 2 hrs prior.

On your return journey to Amritsar ( which you should take btw), try their mouth melted "Chur Chur Naan". It was something that I have tasted anywhere but here. And if you get some time, take a walk to the Gurudwara in the night, it looks beautiful.

P.S: As soon you would enter in the vicinity of Gurudwara, you would probably be surrounded by a group, that will make you wear the scarf on your head, that they would charge after that. So try to use your own scarf cum handkerchief if you want to avoid that situation.

What Could Be Better

Don't go in June, it's so hot there.
