The only reason I like birthdays is the opportunity to single-handedly demolish a whole cake. And while I usually refrain from digging into the Belgian chocolate/cheesecakes of the world courtesy my {bowel} issues with gluten, sugar, and dairy, this birthday was different thanks to V's Bake Shop.
They've been a home-based bakery until recently, they opened an outlet in Chattarpur. My colleagues ordered a dynamite Chocolate Cake for my birthday {vegan and gluten-free} and a set of orange and almond flour cookies. Their chocolate cake {pictured} is excellent- classic, fluffy, with a dense {vegan and gluten-free} chocolate cream embracing its layers. Those almond and orange cookies are my go-to 4 pm treat with a cuppa chai.
Vegan and gluten-free doesn't mean tasteless and boring! And V's Bake Shop drives that point home. They do a bunch of different flavours in cakes, cookies, and bread, I'm excited to try their Peanut Butter Fudge next, and their Almond Flour Shortcakes. They also do desserts tailored to keto and/or paleo diet, in case you're interested.
