Goa Plan Died Again? This Fest Is Bringing Goan Food, Music & Handicrafts To Delhi

What Is It?

Goa Festival 2017 is bringing three days {Nov 10-12} of celebrating Goa in Delhi. People from within the small Goan community are bringing live music, cuisine and shopping at the Goa Sadan so everyone who wants to virtually transport themselves to the beach can get the next best thing.

Who Is It For?

Everyone who’d like to experience the city’s vibe from the eyes of a local. This is the place to enjoy folk dances, cultural performances and win a chance to go to Goa {yes, there’s a lucky dip}.

Why Should I Go For It?

Much as we love Lady Baga {or the sandy patch at Tabula}, being there and pretending that we’re on Baga beach is no longer making the cut for us. So when we heard of this authentic Goan festival that claims to fly down chefs from Goa and promises a whole lot of live Goan music, we decided to ditch the kitsch for the real deal.

We hear that processed foods from the state will also be up for sale. Did you also just dream of Bebinca and Goan sausages? Or port wine?

Anything Else?

There’s a good chance that you’ll meet new folks and hopefully make new friends and who knows, on your next trip to Goa, you might be seeing the city’s whole new side.

If you’re going on the opening day {Nov 10}, make sure you’re seated by 5.45. Yes yes, they’ve got a small inauguration ceremony in true government style but post that, Goan music, yay! There’s also a cover charge of INR 350 that includes a Goan buffet dinner and a lucky dip ticket. Buy the tickets here.
