If you love to reminisce about good old Bollywood music and can spend hours listening to Kishor Kumar's golden tracks from the 80s and KK’s iconic 90s numbers, then Godaam is the place for you. The place will transport you into the retro Bollywood era, starting from its interiors, and a vintage collections of posters sprawled across the walls to invoke nostalgia in you.
As soon as you enter through the red door, you’ll be greeted by a beautiful gramaphone hanging from the ceiling, followed by walls full of postcards and posters from some of the iconic movies like Mughal-e-Azam, Sholay, Amar Prem, and many more. The interiors are clean, and feature old -school rattan chairs and a lot of greenery. The bar has a rack of books and DVD collections of Bollywood movies, and books on Hindi cinema, to shake up some nostalgia and serve it on the side with your drinks.
When it comes to the food, their menu is a delight for someone who enjoys a good Indian-Mughlai meal, paired with an extensive bar menu. A dedicated chaat section, dahi kebabs, Tandoori Bharwa Aloo, Murgh Malai Tikka, and Tandoori Kebab Platter, you will be spoilt for choice. The main course is set in a manner that delights every Indian palate — from extensive vegetarian options like Dal Makhani, Paneer Lababdar, Khumb Do Pyaza, and Methi Malai Matar, to a good variety of non-veg selection that includes Prawn Masala, Murgh Makhani, Kadhai Chicken, Mutton Rogan Josh and much more. For drinks, we would suggest you try their Jaljeera G&T, Sangria, and Cosmopolitan, and for teetotallers, you can go for the Lemon Iced Tea. What also stood out for us about the restaurant was its buffet option. From Tuesday to Friday, they have an unlimited lunch buffet from 12.30 to 3.30 pm, with the vegetarian meal priced at INR 795 and non-vegetarian at INR 895 inclusive of all taxes. You can also enquire about their kitty party menus and options for all our enthusiastic ladies.
The restaurant is on the first floor followed by the OG Depot48. Depot48 is a safe space for people from the LGBTQIA+ community and they host regular events for queer folks, including a weekly event called Pink Thursday. Our verdict on the entire experience is great and we would definitely recommend you make a pit-stop post your very Bollywood-y meal!
