Whether you're sharing them with your BFFs or fighting for the last piece with your siblings, desserts keep us together in heartwarming ways. The festive season is around the corner, and we’re all looking for guilt-free indulgence. Pardon the grandma moment, but something we fully recommend is swapping regular sugar with the OG sweetener—Hamdard Honey. Just the name is enough to trust the high-quality of honey from this over a century old Hamdard brand. Sourced from local beekeepers across India, it's 100% pure and boosts your immunity, thus elevating your dessert menu and making it the go-to choice for health conscious.

So let's look at some Indian desserts that can be sweetened with honey.

JALEBI

Make a thick batter by mixing the following ingredients:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 2 tablespoon corn flour

- ¼ tablespoon  turmeric powder

- ½ cup curd

- ½ cup water

- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

- 1 pinch of salt.

- ½ tablespoon baking soda

For the syrup, mix:

- 1 cup Hamdard Honey

- 1 cup water

- a bunch of saffron

- ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder

Pour the thick batter into a squeezable sauce bottle and add it in the pan in a circular motion. Fry until golden brown. On the side, make the sugar syrup by boiling Hamdard honey, water, saffron and cardamom powder. Soak the fried Jalebis in this warm syrup and you are done.

BALUSHAHI

To make the dough, mix in:

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 2 teaspoons yoghurt,

- 2 teaspoons clarified butter

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon honey

Divide and shape them as you please. Fry them in ghee on medium flame until golden brown. Then, dip them in Hamdard honey until it coats all over it. Serve chilled as a dessert.

HONEY CAKE

To prepare the batter, whip up the following ingredients:

3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup vegetable oil

1 cup Hamdard honey

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup brewed coffee or tea

½ cup orange juice

Preheat your oven at 350 F. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oil, ¾ cups of Hamdard honey, eggs, vanilla extract, coffee or tea, and orange juice. Mix all ingredients until you get a lump free batter. Pour the batter into a baking pan, drizzle the left off ¼ cup honey on top and bake all the way! This should take around 30-60 minutes, depending upon the type of oven you have.

ALMOND MALAI KULFI

To prepare an Almond Malai Kulfi blend:

1 cup almonds (blanched and ground)

1 1/2 cups condensed milk

1 tablespoon Hamdard honey

6 tablespoons cream

1/4 cup milk

A pinch of saffron

In a bowl, blend blanched almonds, condensed milk, Hamdard Honey, and cream together. Add milk and saffron to this and mix. Add crushed and toasted pistachios to it and mix them well together. Set them in a matki and cover it with butter paper. Refrigerate until cold.

APPLE SMOOTHIE

Grind the following ingredients together:

1 large apple, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup milk

1/3 cup vanilla yogourt or plain yogourt

5 almonds or 1 tablespoon almond powder

A dash of ground cinnamon (optional)

All you have to do is blend in milk, apple, yogurt, almond and Hamdard honey for a fantastic drink that’ll make your guests want for more! Garnish it in the end by adding a few ice-cubes on top and serve chilled.
