Gurgaon Pride: Celebrating Love, Diversity And The Rainbow

The information in this post might be outdated

What Is It?

Gurgaon’s first Queer Pride is a strong call to action towards dispelling bigoted notions, initiating an inclusive dialogue process and building a safer world for marginalised communities, so that no one is left behind.

Who Is It For?

Everyone. Regardless of what you do, your sexual orientation, your age or ethnicity, your beliefs and your gender – there’s no discrimination and it’s open to all.

Why Should I Go For It?

The Pride promises music, dance, art, open mic, a march of solidarity and the chance to spot a rainbow. It is a multi-faceted movement that, at the heart of it, celebrates individual identities {LGBTQ+, or anything else, really}.

A symbol of protest against senseless violence and a chance to speak out for those still struggling on the fringes – the Pride is a small step in the right direction. Make public spaces safe, again. Start an open-minded conversation. Fight for collective freedom.

Anything Else?

The event is scheduled to start with the reading of the Pride statement and an introductory talk. You’re welcome to bring your own musical instruments, posters and placards and join in, as you soak up all of the many colours.

A candlelight vigil will be held for the 49 victims of the Orlando shooting, the forward-thinking Bangladeshi bloggers that paid for their words with their lives, and victims of hate.
