Some clothing brands don't have to be loud to assert their presence, quality and charm. We're speaking of clothes that are barely touched, minimal yet statement, those that let their wearers shine (while adding to that glow). Embodying all this and more is Sunoh Studio, a Gujarat based label.
Get this. All they do are straight cut kurtas with straight cut pants. Every set has clean cut silhouettes, three-fourth sleeves and come in solid colours and different necklines. The fabric also differs based on the collection. Like 'Roz', a collection that features classic plain sets for everyday wear is made with fine self weave stripes using chinon silk. 'Rehna Sake', designed for occasions uses different kinds of silk and soft chanderi. These pieces have the slightest detailing (mostly around the neck and hands), enough to make you appreciate the allure of anything subtle.
We also think that their colours step in to fill the shoes of heavy embroidery or too much detailing. Picture iced blue, midnight black, emerald green, light lilac and more.
In addition to great aesthetics, being handcrafted and ethical manufacturing (above and minimum fair wage), Sunoh takes pride in pricing their clothing cheaper than machinery. Prices start INR 1,200 for a set, going up to INR 3,700. They also believe their customers have the right to know how much it takes to make their clothes, and thereby are open to sharing true costs. A concept they call radical transparency. These can be mailed to you upon request.
