If we were to think of an easy, breezy, light, yet fun meal, we would most definitely think of sushi (and Japanese in general). A casual brunch with the girls, a chill, early-dinner date with your sibling, your offspring or your colleagues —sushi can be had on all occasions, making it the top choice for a lot of Delhiites. The sushi in Delhi has adopted us just as well as we have adopted it. You can find options such as ‘chicken sushi,’ which is not the most authentic but definitely something you’d keep going back for. For me, sushi has now started to stand for happiness, it almost always makes me break into a happy dance as did the restaurant I'm going to talk about today. One of Delhi’s most loved Japanese places that shot to fame thanks to their fluffy and jiggly pancakes that look almost too good to eat! Yes, I’m talking about the Harajuku Tokyo Cafe.

You might say that you know all there is to know about this one because you’re well acquainted with the different outlets across the city by now, but trust us when we say that the Harajuku Tokyo Outlet in M3M Mall, IFC is a little extra special! Firstly, the ambience is what you would expect—it’s pink, cute, and kawaii, but amplified 10x. For seating, they have both booths and tables, but the highlight is, of course, the unmissable conveyor belt that travels around the bar in the centre. YES, it’s a sushi bar!

I’ll talk about the important thing first, which is, of course, the cocktails. The concoctions are unique and infused with Japanese flavours. I tried the Matcha Colada, a pleasant and refreshing surprise that is topped with whipped cream and sprinkles! Green Mantis has notes of vetiver, apple and wasabi. Not only the flavours are experiential, but the way they choose to serve the cocktails is also very cinematic. Say, the vodka-based Geisha comes hidden inside a Geisha doll, and the Toki Whiskey-based Mount Fuji comes with a whiff of smoke and a volcano-shaped glass. You're going to love it.

For around INR 1500 (approx), you can opt for the Unlimited Sushi Conveyor Belt Menu, and you can also add unlimited tap beer to it for a total of just INR 1900! I know, this place keeps getting better and better. But that’s STILL not all. They have a dance floor and Karaoke nights every Sunday and DJ on other days. So, this cute Japanese place easily doubles up as somewhere you can throw a party, all while still having the toothsome pancakes that we all love.
