Hashtag Sangeet is a Delhi-based venture started by Gauri and Zoya, who help you choreograph dance performances for wedding sangeets.
Gauri and Zoya are high-school best friends who’ve always had a serious love for dancing. Zoya is a classical dancer, who’s also trained in jazz and hip hop. Gauri, on the other hand, has a classical background in Kathak and Bharatnatyam, and is also experienced in a number of folk dances, salsa, contemporary, and belly dancing. Talk about a powerhouse, multiplied by two!
Their passion and love for dance is very contagious, which is especially helpful if you are that cousin who’s being forced to shake a leg at the wedding. So these two best friends combined their love for dancing with their fascination for weddings, and came up with Hashtag Sangeet. You can give them your list of songs you want to dance on, and they’ll whip up something awesome for you. Clueless about Bollywood in general? Fret not, they’ll be more than happy to give you suggestions.
As professional as they are, these girls are not just business when they come in for the practice sessions to your home; they know that it’s not just another ‘dance practice’, but also a reunion of sorts for families.
Whether you’re a college student, grandparent of the bride, or just the worst dancer on the planet, you can count on having a great time with them during practice as well as on the day of the sangeet, which, if you ask us, is kind of the entire point.
