Hotel Deyzor is not only a place that offers great food and a cosy room to sleep in but it also teaches you so much about sustainable travelling. This place has a never-ending influx of travellers from April to September. If you’re planning to visit in these months, make a prior {at least a month} booking for your stay at Deyzor. The Private room cost INR 1,500 per night and they have combos with breakfast, lunch, and dinner too. The kind of homely atmosphere that you will find here is worth more than you’ll end up paying.
The food is absolutely delicious, pick anything from the menu card or their specials board {which they update every day} and you will undoubtedly love it. Even after your tummy gives up, your tastes buds would still want to indulge and savour the delicacies served here.
The wood-baked pizzas are a must-try. Try the one with freshly made pesto sauce and pick your own toppings. The Shredded Spicy Chicken with homemade garlic bread is SO good. I can still feel the taste in my mouth.
Don't forget to try the Lemon and Sugar Syrup cake - something different and tangy. Oh, and the tandoori chicken is a necessity to pamper your inner Punjabi as the chicken is tender and beautifully cooked.
Talking of sustainable travelling - the place has dustbins made up of plastic bottles, they do not serve packaged drinking water but instead, they reuse wine and alcohol bottles for serving filtered water.
Luckily, the day we had landed in Kaza, the owners of this place had organised an event to raise funds for cleaning Kaza and making it garbage free. There were tables spread with some delectable homemade food, both savoury and sweet, and a live singing session by Jade, a redhead foreign girl. The locals of Kaza were also made a part of this event. The money raised at the event was said to be used to run a cleaning drive in Kaza and transport all the garbage to Chandigarh for its proper disposal. I made a generous contribution by eating tandoori chicken, lemon cake, and mutton momos that day. 😀
This place also gives you the liberty to interact with fellow travellers, make new friends, share travel tales, read books, and use wifi in a no network zone.
