Just Chiffons

Just Chiffons

This Jaipur-based fashion label, founded by Rohini Singh Gupta, specialises in chiffon sarees that are intricately embellished and embroidered, reminiscent of the vintage sarees from a bygone era—think Maharani Gayatri Devi in her chiffons and pearls! I love my lemon chiffon saree from them, which I’ve often worn for festive occasions and weddings.

Vikram Bajaj

The nephew of legendary designer Ravi Bajaj, Vikram has focused on 'Sports Couture' for men, creating sharp, gritty, urban-chic streetwear. It's the tailoring and attention to detail that really set this brand apart. Although I don’t own anything by them, I would love to gift a piece to someone special.

Ritikaa Shekhawat Jaipur

Another Jaipur-based fashion label, Ritikaa, is founded by a designer who loves to create stunning block prints on kurta-pants, dresses, tunics, churidars, and palazzo pants, paired with dainty odhnis—perfect for a hot Indian summer day. The pieces I own are super comfy and look very elegant when paired with simple gold and diamond jewellery.

Again, a Jaipur-based company that specialises in silverware, this brand is the brainchild of my childhood friends, Ruchi and Shikha Durlabhji. They create dainty tealights, frames, puja sets, napkin rings, Hindu deities, Christmas ornaments, and even silver jewellery.

Rajmata Poshak

This is a Jodhpur-based brand that makes traditional Rajput Poshaks, with several clients from Rajasthan's royal and noble families. I ordered a few poshaks for my nephew's wedding—and I loved the heavy blush pink one I wore for the Pheras, as well as the lighter orange and red poshak I wore for an earlier ceremony.

The Runway Diaries

This platform, launched by Kunwarani Ritu Singh of Jammu & Kashmir, celebrates the rich tapestry and craftsmanship of Jammu, providing designers, weavers, artisans, and creative talents with the opportunity to elevate the fashion industry in Jammu & Kashmir. It features wonderfully embroidered kurtas, sarees, sets, stoles, shawls, and objets d'art, all set to be available online this March, along with a physical store. I admire Ritu for her dedication to the people of Jammu & Kashmir and her commitment to making their creations available to the world!

Shilpmanjari by Manjari Mishra

This brand was created by my friend, Princess Manjari Mishra of Ayodhya, where she recreates sarees and pieces worn by the erstwhile maharanis of the Kingdom of Ayodhya. A very talented designer and gracious person, Manjari’s forte is embroidered Benarasi sarees, as well as tunics, coats, capes, and lehengas that stand out for their old-world charm and unique designs!

House of Badnore

This is another accessories label for men and women, founded by Archana Badnore, who has roots in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi. I absolutely love her animal-print pocket squares (we've bought several as giveaways for festive occasions), foulards, cufflinks, and coat buttons that you can personalise with your own design. She also makes silver deities, pashmina wraps, tea lights, rakhis, bags, and more.

Atelier Shikaarbagh

Founded by Kota-based designer Maayankraj Singh, from the royal family of Kayasthpada, Dholpur, this label should definitely be on your radar for super-luxurious chiffon sarees, gowns, dresses, and wispy kurta sets. Laden with stunning embroidery and shaded to perfection, each saree tells the story of a past maharani and an era when royalty wore their absolute finest on the grandest occasions. In my opinion, no wedding trousseau should be complete without a Shikaarbagh saree!

The PDKF Store

This Jaipur-based fashion brand, founded by the young Princess Gauravi of Jaipur—a fashion icon in her own right and global ambassador for Jimmy Choo—speaks volumes about the artisanal work of the women of Jaipur, brought under the aegis of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation. Known for her colourful block prints, Gauravi has styled a range of outfits, from pantsuits to dresses, sarees to kurta sets, babywear, and even scrunchies and caps. The monochrome or multi-hued designs are unmistakably PDKF and are perfect for a day out on the town, any day of the week.

This Delhi-based bag and accessories brand creates beautiful, cruelty-free vegan leather bags, clutches, backpacks, and totes. Founded by equestrian lover Saahil Nandrajog, the brand is now available in the UAE. I love their paan saddle bag and crossbody, both of which are compact and highly wearable!

House of Ranian

This fashion label, founded by the stylish Neha Guptta, sister of Bollywood star Esha Gupta, exudes festive charm and sophistication. I love this brand's delicately embroidered velvet shawls, which are perfect for chilly Delhi winters, draped over a gold lehenga or sari from her Sunehri collection. Neha's work continues to get more intricate and regal, inspired by the royal houses of Hyderabad, Awadh, and Lucknow. From handwoven textiles to gota-patti work, Neha, a longtime friend, is one designer to watch.
