This Poetry Walk Of A Supposedly Haunted Fort Is A Legit Reason To Spend A Sunday Outdoors

What Is It?

The Rhyme Republic and Delhi By Foot is organising a Delhi Heritage Poetry Walk on March 4 that combines the best of heritage and poetry. At this walk, expect a guided tour of the stunning Feroz Shah Kotla Fort, where, it is believed that various Djinns and spirits reside {did you know?!}. The walk will be followed by a poetry recitation session, where everyone’s more than welcome to participate {closet Ghalibs and pros included}.

Who Is It For?

If you’re a lover of poetry, history and architecture, this is one walk that’ll leave you happy, very happy. Plus, if you’re tired of your usual do-nothing-and-dread-Mondays-kinda-Sundays, the Delhi Heritage Poetry Walk could be a great distraction.

Why Should I Go For It?

Because this walk will give you a peak into the world of fakirs and sufi saints, and there’s just so much that you can learn about your own city here. Who knows, revisiting the mysterious Feroz Shah Kotla Fort, exploring all its ruins and rooms with the folks at Delhi By Foot {who’re probably one of the best people for guided tours around town} might actually make you fall in love with this city again? Moreover, Feroz Shah Kotla Fort is not your usual Qutub Minar or Red Fort that sees so many tour groups on a daily basis. It’s an unusual location for a walk, which makes it all the more interesting {as not a lot is really known about this fort}.

Plus, summer’s almost here, which means that this might actually be one of the last few months when exploring Dilli on foot will be delightful {unless you’re okay with the scorching heat melting you away post March}. So, why not make the most of these lovely, last-of-winter days?

Also, the walk is free, so there’s absolutely nothing to lose either.
