Set against the backdrop of the lush Western Ghats, quietly tucked away from bustling city life, this getaway is a dreamy secret we’re excited to share. The road uphill is a bit of a journey but when you get there it is oh-so-worth-it! The rooms (six in total) are tastefully done with wooden flooring, white cane chairs and tables, sprinkled with potted plants and artsy décor items all around. Although you can bring your family along we think this place makes for the perfect romantic getaway (a bae-cation, if you will) and the view from your private balcony is to die for. While we love the cottages and rooms, if you want to indulge a bit, check into King's Lair, the luxe suite! With a 180-degree view of the mountains, valleys and the towns below, the ceiling to floor glass windows make it perfect to watch the sunrise and sunset. You even have a view of the Periyar Lake on a clear day.
You’d probably want to spend ALL your time in the room (because it’s that beautiful) but hey, if you’re a nature lover, there’s even more so if you head on outside. You can perhaps spot wildlife on the jeep safaris, watch a Kathakali or Kalari performance or visit tea factories and spice plantations nearby. For the adventurous, try bamboo rafting.
In-house activities include nature walks where you can find many fruit plants and spices on your trail. They have an Ayurvedic spa and the infinity pool is just spectacular. Called Tranquilia, the water is apparently sourced from a natural spring making it luch with nutrient that are easy on the skin and spirits! We're hoping it's a version of the Fountain Of Youth!
Expect reasonable good fare, off their multi-cuisine a la carte menu at the restaurant.
