What Makes It Awesome

Located on a 6,000 feet hilltop, The Taara House in Manali is everything you are looking for to spend a perfect weekend getaway. The interiors of the place are so tastefully done that you wouldn't want to come back. The glass ceiling in the living area lets you dine under the stars and every morning, you'll wake up with the scent of flowers from the garden and cuddles of adorable doggos who stay at the property!

This two-bedroom cottage is made

Hosts With The Most

This delightful property is a family’s dream project and it’s unbelievable that no architect or interior designer has ever set foot here. Tanya Palta, a fine arts photographer and interiors expert, has lovingly picked out every small and big thing, and the structure itself {strong, striking and dream-like} has been built on her father’s instruction.

The curtains, upholstery and funky wall art too are Tanya’s design studio, [a]nthologie’s doing.

The result of this collaborative effort is a stunning two-bedroom cottage all of which is done using reclaimed oak and teak wood. But this intimate little place is all set to grow bigger this summer – we’re told an eight bedroom lodge will be added atop the existing cottage.

A Piece Of Paradise

It’s the little touches and care that’s gone into getting everything from the Scandinavian light fixtures to a viewing deck with big French windows that makes it breathtakingly beautiful. The sunny glass-house-cum-drawing room is the ideal place to curl up with a book during the afternoon, and once you’re bored and in the need for supplies, the town centre is just three kms away.

Bye Bye Cold Feet

If you love the snowfall but hate the prospect of frozen feet, this is just the place. You can soak in the lovely views from the comfort of a traditional, fireplace-equipped bedroom with a glass of wine in your hand {and a blanket around your feet}.

There are also local treks around the place and Hadimba Temple, some half a kilometre away, just in case you plan to do something apart from staring at the views.

So, We’re Saying…

It’s true some things in life are beyond words, but if we were to describe Taara House, we’d say, imagine if the romance of a quintessential Yash Raj film and Ruskin Bond’s sweet-natured nostalgia came together… that’s exactly what it’d look like.

And because you can’t be romancing yourself in that chiffon sari, take bae along. No, seriously, this place is worth a million memories.
