Lightcube just kickstarted Radium Cinema: A Series Of Midnight Horror Stories that’s all set to screen back-to-back horror flicks on the weekends starting from Feb 17. These scary nights are intended at getting the wayward night owls together for an evening of movie watching, popcorn and bonding at GoStops Hostel in Daryaganj.
Love Horror Movies? This Hostel Screens Them Post 10pm On Weekends For INR 300!
What Is It?
Who Is It For?
Everyone that likes to explore the hidden, mysterious nightlife of the city. Introverted movie buffs, those who are broke but enjoy novel experiences with strangers or just enjoy a well-made movie at night, you’ve got to land up.
Why Should I Go For It?
This project takes from a midnight movie movement that started as a way to foster an alternative culture in 1960s’ America. To be present at these screenings was to prove a point about wanting to dissociate with the crowd; with the norms set by the industrial society. It wasn’t just a film outing back then, but a way to challenge the dominant world order.
The organisers are taking a leaf from this legacy’s book, and treating horror movie lovers with Radium Cinema. You’ll get to watch cult movies like Body Snatchers, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, REC, The Invitation and more. This selection is thoughtful enough to give you the best from across cultures.
Anything Else?
The next night screenings are on Feb 24 and March 3. The one-night ticket costs INR 300, while the season pass costs INR 1,000. Buy them here.
P.S. You can also hit up this kebab street before calling it a night.
