Started by Sai Deepthi in 2019, House of Megumi will make you fall in love with traditional Indian art forms all over again. Offering vibrant home accessories made by local artisans of the south, this brand seeks to bring long-forgotten Indian handicrafts back to the table, and we love them for that!
Handmade dolls is their speciality and you can find them in an array of options. Their dancing Thanjavur dolls are what first caught our attention and you can find them in an array of colours and designs. They have male dolls, female dolls and are also adding couple dolls to the mix. These can be customised for size, colour and design. House Of Megumi even has stone-carved products made by artisans from Mahabalipuram like candle stands and buddha statues that also make for great gifts.
But it's their wooden dolls that we love the most. Crafted by Channapatna artisans, you can find all kinds of concept dolls in this category - smiley dolls, baker dolls, rockstar dolls, super-hero themed dolls (Superwoman, Batman, Spiderman), couple dolls, Japanese dolls and more. 15 different types to be precise. You can even get them customised to your liking. Prices start from about INR 299. They are even trying to work with artisans from Orissa and Mumbai and offer terracotta home accessories. They also take bulk orders for customised mementoes, trophies and medals featuring super-heroes, interesting figurines carved out of wood and even metal.
