The Hungry Monkey Has A New Boozy Menu We Love

Ten-Second Takeaway

In keeping with the spirit of this monsoon season, the good folks at The Hungry Monkey have launched a special menu with alcohol-infused dishes: Everything from the soups, salads, appetisers to mains and desserts is made using different kinds of spirits.

Must Eat

Needless to say, we made a beeline straight to The Hungry Monkey to try it out.

A must try for seafood aficionados is their Sambuca Torched Feta & Prawn Saganaki. What makes this dish absolutely delicious is that the prawns were bursting with flavour, perfectly seasoned with peri-peri, tomato and oregano. The Red Wine Linguini with Dashi Cream and Ricotta is something both vegetarians and pasta lovers will enjoy.

We finished our meal with a delectable Bailey’s Cookie Cream Parfait that was layered with coffee mousse and Oreos.

Must Drink

There is a long Summer Special drinks menu that includes an innovative array of martinis and cocktails. Our favourite was the Anjum Beach which is a gorgeous looking purple cocktail with Crème de Cassis, Champagne, blueberry and lavender. As if that wasn’t enough, there are also some delightful fresh martinis with interesting flavour combinations – chilli and raw mango, apple and rosemary and cucumber and basil.

What We Loved

It’s great to see a restaurant daring to try different and unusual flavour combinations {such as their summer special cocktails}. It is a welcome relief to see food that is simply yet beautifully presented, with no added frills and fancies.

What Didn't Impress Us

While the meat and seafood dishes were great, there was a dearth of equally palatable options for vegetarians.

What Is The Best Time To Visit?

They have a beautiful rooftop that offers gorgeous views of Deer Park, which is just across the road. It makes for a perfect setting for a lazy Sunday brunch with friends, family or a romantic date.

#LBBTip: Try their Wine Bazaar which happens every Wednesday night, where you can order your favourite bottle of wine at MRP. If you're a jazz and blues enthusiast, drop in to enjoy their Music Under the Stars night which takes place every Thursday.
