Spearheaded by an officer in the Merchant Navy, Capt. Naveen Sawhney and his wife Mala Sawhney, Hungry Tummy is devoted to feeding home-cooked meals to those of us who terribly miss Ghar Ka Khaana. And let's be real, there is nothing more comforting than home food.
A passion for cooking, experimenting with distinct dishes and feeding others led Capt. Sawhney into opening his home venture. The menu at Hungry Tummy is a delightful mix of frozen snacks, dips and sauces, proper meals and desserts. Meat lovers, they have plenty of kebabs, chicken and mutton curries (yes, including Rogan Josh) and the good ol' biryanis. Their vegetarian counterparts include wholesome Rajma, Dal Makhani, Kadhi and tons of seasonal veggies. If Indian food is not on the cards anytime soon, these folks serve delectable Thai rice and curries, noodles, pasta and sushis as well. We're told that Capt. Sawhney cooks everything on the menu himself and when he's sailing his wife takes over the kitchen.
The next time you host a house party, we'd suggest ordering fresh dips and sauces from here, all made from scratch and oh-so-delicious. As for the desserts, they have some classics like Fruit Cream, Phirni, Cheesecake and Mousse. Ever heard of a Paan Cheesecake or Paan Phirni? They've got those too!
Everything on their menu is reasonably priced, starting at INR 70. Make sure you place your orders well in advance (24 hours prior) since it's a home kitchen and everything is prepared fresh. Home-cooked, comfort food, easy on the pockets and plenty of options to choose from - it's a win-win you guys!
