The Potbelly is a quaint cafe tucked inside Chanakyapuri. It has two branches in Delhi, one at Shahpur Jat and the other one inside the Bihar Bhawan at Chanakyapuri. They serve the lesser known Bihari cuisine, but if you want to taste authentic Bihari Litti Chokha or some Sattu Pooris, look no further. This is definitely one of the best, no-fuss, no-frills, authentic Bihari fare one can get.
The place is a nicely lit cafe inside the Bihar Bhawan building facing a lovely garden. Mostly all the tables have copper water bottles placed on them. The menu is exquisite -
both veg and non-veg. The drinks {non-alcoholic} are delicious. We would definitely recommend the Mutton Ghugni, Champaran-style Mutton, Meat Pakoras, the Mutton Thalis and of course, the Litti Chokha - a small potato or aubergine mash with onion, coriander and green chilli, along with a slight hint of mustard oil served with baked or roasted wheat balls and stuffed with Sattu. You will also get some Dal or Mutton Curry to go with it in some of the dishes. If you are looking to try something new or different, I would definitely recommend The Potbelly Cafe!
