I'd say that an Indian wedding makeup look is anything that an Indian decides to wear on their face. But if I had to define it, it would be a very traditional, glowing face with kohl-defined eyes, red (or sometimes, nude) lips, heavy lashes, and glittery eyeshadows on faces that are gleaming with the joy of festivities. Of course, you can play with the intensity of your look according to the occasion — weddings, diwali parties, jagratas, and the likes. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference but if you're looking for the typical Indian festive look then keep reading to find everything you need!
What Is The Indian Makeup Look? And How You Can Nail It This Season!
Skincare
While talking about any look, skincare should be the first step. You need to prep your face for all the layering that's going to stay put while you dance, drink, eat and enjoy. A good cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen are key to healthy skin, to that mix, also add a primer this time.

The base is usually heavy, with full coverage, and needs to be perfectly blended, concealing all your worries away! If you like to keep it lightweight then we'd recommend going for a BB cream instead of a foundation or skipping foundation altogether and heading straight to concealer (that's what I prefer). Contouring isn't essential but if you want that snatched look, then a little bit wouldn’t hurt. Then my favourite, blush! (there's never too much). Top it up with a highlighter that is brighter than your future, and the first step is done.

Eyes
I would say eyes are the show-stopper of this entire look. You want them to really shine and glimmer. Other than that you're free to play with different looks and see what really works for you and your outfit. You could either go all out, like a smokey eye or keep it simple by just blending some warm tones, just make sure to add glitter! Oh and, you must not forget kajal and your lashes!

Lips
The world has shifted from red lips to mauves and nudes, and that has rippled to our festive looks as well. Pillowtalk by Charlotte Tilbury — a natural pink-ish nude has become a global favourite (and was worn by Alia Bhatt on her wedding day too), so, there are no rules. You do you, and we'll do what we do best, flood you with great options!
