This 30-Year-Old Indian Makeup Brand Is Dominating The Beauty Scene

What Makes It Awesome

Chances are, you’ve heard or seen or even used this brand’s makeup products already. Insight Cosmetics has been in business for over 30 years now and they’re available online and in 7,500 retail stores offline. Yup, they’re BIG. A lot of cosmetic brands end up getting sidelined by international brands, but not this one. Their line is super expansive with a ton of different shades and they’re also really affordable. Win, win!

For base, they have matte and liquid foundations as well as light coverage and full coverage concealers. I like the glowy skin look so I preferred the Liquid Foundation with SPF 15. Their Candy Lipstick packaging looks a tad like the Mac bullet lipsticks but at 1/10 the price; the formula was okay and it’ll work for a daily use lipstick. They have matte lipsticks, too, including Ultra Matte bullet lipsticks and liquid lipsticks. The shade range is nice, from nudes to super deep purples. They had about 60+ nail paint colours and I took 20 minutes to choose my favourites. I picked up a lavender and bright blue. The colour pay-off was okay, I needed about 3-4 coats to get it opaque. It chipped pretty soon, though, which I didn’t like. The shade range is really impressive though, they’ve got pastels and bold colours and it’s a nice way to experiment.

What Could Be Better

I felt their eye makeup products were a little lacking, with just one glossy liquid liner and 2 mascaras. They should add some really fun and bright eyeshadow palettes!
