What Makes It Awesome

Ishka Farms started in 2012 with a vision of sustainable farming and using the drylands in the outskirts of Chennai to create an ecosystem of their own. Growing vegetables, handpicking of fruits, natural manuring and making a greenhouse for birds, bees and butterflies - this brand is making working in harmony with nature the 'IT' thing. But that is not the only thing that appealed to us. They have some fancy snacks that they make using ingredients from these renewed drylands and you can buy them on their website!

While you can shop for fresh veggies and fruits, we love the caper variety at Ishka Farms that are sold as snacks. Pickled and salted, these are highly used in Mediterranean cuisine, and you can use it with spaghetti or even eat it just like you eat olives. Capers here come in three varieties - capers in brine, capers mixed with sea salt or caper berries in brine. The price varies depending on the size of capers with caper berries in brine, costing INR 225.

They have caper salt as well for INR 340. The coolest part about this is their packaging. All these come in glass jars with bold, bright and colourful typography! Ishka Farms also grows Moringa leaves and sells it in different forms. Along with being an antioxidant, Moringa is also used in Asian cuisine while making rice and noodles. They have recipes online for Moringa cake and tea, smoothie and fried rice. You can also buy Moringa powder and raw leaves, both for INR 275.

They even have sea salt that you can check out and get for INR 60.
