Need A Break From All The Shopping? Drop By The Janpath Hotel For Dessert & Drinks

The Janpath Hotel’s Gulnar Restaurant might just impress you with its peaceful ambience {unlike other central Delhi restaurants}, delish desserts which are not as price-y as you might think and drinks on discounts to get you through the week.

The four-star Janpath Hotel has a fancy restaurant and bar at the ground floor that serves the regular North Indian, Chinese and Continental fare. The Veg Kebab, Paneer Tikka and Kadhai Paneer are just some of the dishes we hear great things about.

However, what we truly loved at the Gulnar Restaurant were their desserts. They might not have a lot of options but they do a good job with what’s on the menu. We ordered the Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream and were pleased with what we were served. The pie had nice brown colour, a filling of soft cinnamon flavoured apples {unlike the canned kind at most places} and it was not too sweet or mushy either. Considering that The Janpath Hotel is so fancy, we were prepared to shell out money but were surprised to find that the Pie was priced at INR 150 only. Their Chocolate Fantasy Muffin & Rasgulla were a close second.

We’re kind of biased towards the desserts and drinks here, so we’d definitely recommend that you head to Gulnar for the same after your dinner/lunch elsewhere. They’re offering a 50% discount on whisky {100 Pipers & Black Dog} and 70% discount on Smirnoff coffee vodka. Other than that, you can choose from a range of white & red wines, gin, rum, beer, cocktails like Bloody Mary, Screwdriver and mocktails too.

You could probably head to the Janpath Hotel’s Gulnar Restaurant for fine-dine date nights as it is quiet and has the perfect environment for meaningful conversations. Moreover, once in a while, it’s good to go all out and splurge a little and we suggest that you give Gulnar a shot during one of those times.
