Let’s go Malaysia! That’s the literal translation of Jom Jom Malay! It is perhaps Delhi’s first Malaysian restaurant and has almost all the Malaysian dishes to offer and after having tasted quite a lot of Malay delicacies from their menu, I can say that the food here is authentic and they have not deviated it to an Indianised version. The ambience is vibrant and colourful with paintings and Artifacts depicting the Malaysian culture. This spot also has a beautiful spacious lawn.
Now about the food and drinks! The menu is descriptive about the dishes which is perhaps helpful for people who are trying Malaysian cuisine for the first time. To start with the drinks I tried “everyone needs to see my g&t” which is gin and tonic based cocktail infused with herbs followed by my favourite “choke me up” which comprises of whiskey with orange and cinnamon! For the starters we tried raw mango and papaya salad; satay ayam-chicken satay marinated in kaffir lime and lemongrass; popiah rolls; prawn and chicken laksa soup which I loved. For the main course I had roti canai with chicken and lamb curry. Finally for the desserts, couldn’t miss having coconut cheesecake and what not to miss here is sundae fundae!
A big shoutout to Anhad Sethi and his team for the wonderful food and perfect hospitality. Would strongly recommend this spot to those who wanna relish some Malay dishes!
