Shortcut

Juniper Bed and Breakfast, in a little-known quiet hamlet of Jungalia, is a homestay very close to Naukuchiatal and Bhimtal. It is perfect for an extended weekend trip to soak in the beauty of the green mountains, the blue sky and the night stars.

Away From The Hustle And Bustle

Jungalia village is about 10 kilometres {20 minutes drive} from Bhimtal and makes for an ideal road trip for those travelling from Delhi. It is strategically located—close to Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, and Nainital, but still away from the maddening tourist crowds.

It will not take you long to get comfortable at Juniper. The interiors display warm colours, big windows, and European-esque décor and Krishna, the full-time caretaker, can whip up great home-style food. Our favourite part of the house is the common living and dining room with comfy couches and a beautiful fireplace. The house is equipped with loads of books and DVDs of classic films – the perfect fireplace companions.

Colour And blooms

Juniper is surrounded by a lush landscape– pine and oak forests, peach and plum orchards, lemon groves, cultivated terraces, and meadows. You can walk around the village and feast your eyes on the blooming flowers or see villagers cultivating chillies, lemons and vegetables, and plucking peaches and apricots from the trees. You can also enlist Krishna as your guide to the village.

Walk around Jungalia and you can enjoy green valley views, the chirping birds, fresh air, the starry skies, clean air, and best of all, the sound of silence. If you’re okay to venture further, you could sign up for a boating sesh at Naukuchiatal Lake, go paragliding and of course, try the local Pahari dishes {we recommend the Bhatiya and Gehet Ki Dal}.
