JW Marriott Mussoorie For A Pampered Weekend With The Family

Shortcut

Living in the Delhi NCR region guarantees short-weekend trips to the nearest hill stations. Now, we may seek to change our view once in a while, but largely, the places we go to often remain the same. One thing that does change and makes a difference, however, is the accommodation you choose to stay at. Imagine staying in a spa overlooking the mountains or finding a new trekking trail to satiate that wanderlust.

While we were out on a weekend getaway {so long, city life} to Mussoorie, we found ourselves a retreat amidst the lush green cedar trees. Overlooking the expanse of Gharwal Himalayan range and resting just 290 KMs from Delhi, the JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa became our abode for the weekend.

For The Tiny Tots

Our first stop was the {much talked about} entertainment centre; The Den. Apparently the largest in Mussoorie, it had bowling alleys, gaming consoles and a dedicated play area for the kids. Even though we aren’t much for staying indoors, the entertainment centre is a good place for some fierce but friendly competition for kids and adults alike.

Family Time

We chose to head out to the Greenhouse, and, surprised as we were, the place was teeming with seasonal flowers, plants and all kinds of local flora. We took a casual stroll through the lawns {for some inner peace}, ending up in buying ourselves a plant from the nursery to take a bit of Uttarakhand back with us.

Wanderlust Much?

Our constant yearning to explore the wilderness took us on a wondrous trek-trail away from the noise and into the jungle. As our idea was to get away from civilisation, we chose the beautiful Benog hill trail. Cutting through the foliage with breathtaking beauty all around, our pathway led us to a top of a hill, and the view was nothing short of spectacular.

If you’re looking to explore various facets of life in the hills, worry not, for there are multiple trails you can follow. The Dalai hill {3 hours} and Temple trail {1 hour} follows the local monasteries and temples. The most famous and explored trail is Kempty falls trail, and if you like pretty places, don’t miss out on it while you’re there.

Dine In The Cradle Of Nature

We were back to our home famished, and it was time we did something about our hunger-pangs. JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa, with its various restaurants and dining options, did confuse us for a while, but when in Rome…you know how it goes. Enjoy their Hi-Tea at the farm, breakfast in a stream or luncheon at the greenhouse.

Relax And Rejuvenate

As the evening took over and our bodies refused to take another step, we sought to soothe our senses with a spa treatment. Situated on the vertical drop of the hillside, the in-house spa is run by L’Occitane. We went for signature treatment, made using the cedar trees that dominate the region.

We were suitably refreshed by our weekend excursion, and if you are looking to spend some quality time with your family and friends, JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort and Spa should definitely be on your getaway list.
