If you walk around the Bada Gol Chakkar and end up at the Jawahar Nagar lane, you’ll find a small store, displayed under a bright white tubelight, run by an elderly duo. The store attracts customers by simply showcasing colourful kurtas in various styles and materials, including basic solid-coloured and printed kurtas, machine-work chikankari designs, and even some festive pieces with heavily embroidered motifs. The kurtas are neatly arranged and are also affordable, to the extent that people buy bags of the store’s collections to take home as gifts for their families.
