KitchenAid is a premium kitchen appliance brand known for its superior quality. They've been around since 1919 and offer a variety of products like their iconic stand mixer (that looks so good, we'd pass that as decor), blenders, kettles, food processors, cutlery, toasters, and so much more. For the premium products, you also pay a premium price. Their product range starts at INR 4,000 for a kettle going all the way up to INR 65,000 for countertop appliances (from what we could check). The major bonus is that all their products look super aesthetic but there's a debate on whether that's worth the hefty price tag. If you love their functionality and how they look, but not the price point, we found some great alternatives to their range.

As soon as someone mentions KitchenAid, one instantly thinks of their iconic standing mixer. We all know that it comes with multiple attachments, makes life super easy, and is built with good quality materials, all while looking exquisite on the countertop of your kitchen.

If you too, find half a lakh quite steep for this product, then go for this Wonderchef Crimson Edge Die-cast Stand Mixer. Wonderchef, as we all know, is one of the best out there when it comes to kitchenware and kitchen appliances. This Stand mixer comes with three types of beaters for mixing, whisking and dough making. It has 5.7L (one litre more than KitchenAid's) and six speed settings with a three-year warranty. Plus, it looks just as good.

Electric Kettle

Kettles are convenient and having one has become a necessity in many households. KitchenAid offers two types—electric kettles and stove-top kettles. Talking specifically about the electric one here, it has a 1.25 L capacity and looks beautiful but costs INR 8,500! Instead, opt for this one from Hafele. It has a capacity of  1.7 L, automatic power cut off for safety, non-drip spout and comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty.

Stainless Steel Cookware

If you didn't know already, KitchenAid also sells cookware. All of their cookware is stainless steel, which is supposed to stand the test of time. While you'll find similar ones easily on online giants like Amazon and Flipkart, I suggest a homegrown brand that sells great quality cookware known as The Indus Valley. Their stainless steel collection is all tri-ply, just like KitchenAid's and is durable at almost half the price. While you're exploring the brand, I highly suggest checking out their cast iron collection as well.

Blender

Just by looking at KitchenAid's blender, you know it's heavy duty and will have no problem making professional level thick smoothies. It's got multiple speed settings and a massive capacity of 2.6 L, and if you're looking for something very similar in terms of built and capacity, then you must check out Balzano's Mixer and Grinder. I've personally used it, and it has never failed me, whether I had to make the thickest of smoothies or grind nuts. It's got eight speed settings and six pre-programmed settings to make it easy to use. It's got a capacity of 2 L and has an LCD screen that displays the remaining time when using the blender.

Pro-Tip: Know more about high-speed blenders here.

Food Processor

The 9-Cup Food Processor by KitchenAid costs INR 14,000 and performs three basic functions—chopping, kneading, and shredding—to make your life easy. I found this Morphy Richards processor that does much more than that and costs INR 9,000 on discount! It is an all-in-one mixer, grinder and food processor that comes with seven jars, six blades and 11 other attachments.

Knife

A chef cares for their knife as a reader cares for their books, and a traveller cares for their passport, you get the point. A good knife is the key to easier, sharper and faster prep, which is 70% of the work, really. KitchenAid has a variety of knives, I liked their set of three knives, which includes all that a person needs and retails for INR 2,990. Thinkitchen has a similar starter kit of three—a paring knife, utility knife and chef's knife. The Chef's knife is used for slicing and dicing while the utility cleanly cuts food with a hard exterior and soft interior, and lastly, the paring knife tackles all small-scale cutting jobs. The handles are glossy, and it goes without saying that these things are sharp!
