DIY Meal Kits

What Makes It Awesome

I've got a few meals down in my repertoire that I can throw together in under 30 minutes - avocado toast, pasta and pancakes. But the problem is, they're all kind of basic and it gets boring eating the same thing over and over (and over) again. Bored and hungry, I checked out Kook, a DIY meal kit service that sends you the ingredients in the exact proportion, recipe, and even a link to a video to follow along, all being meals that can be cooked in 40 minutes or under.

They have a bunch of different dishes on the menu like Dum Biryani (chicken or kathal), Samosas, Amritsari Kulcha & Chole, and Gulab Jamun Doughnuts (oh, yes.) I tried out the Vegetable Baby Samosas that came with the dough and 2 types of fillings (veggies and chowmein). I liked that the dips and samosa filling wasn't too spicy and I got to choose exactly how I wanted it. The Gulab Jamun Doughnuts, though, were my favourite. I ended up cooking them in the air fryer instead of frying in oil and it totally worked! The rabri with it was exactly as sweet as I like it and it took me about 45 minutes to put it all together.

The meal kits are available in 2 sizes, the smaller one serves 2-3 and the bigger serves 4. If you order before 2 PM, they can send over the meal kits the same day. You can order these DIY Kits by directly contacting them via the "Message" button here.

Price: INR 349 onwards

What Could Be Better

They currently have a very North Indian focused menu so I'd love to be able to cook tougher dishes from the South or, eventually, other countries' cuisines.

Pro-Tip

They'll be updating their menu every 15 days to add seasonal and new recipes that I'm excited to try soon!
