La Bonté has wooden tables, a gold bicycle on the wall and wicker chairs. It’s all very contemporary. However, we can’t say the same about the desserts.
The display here reminded us of old-school bakeries like Maxim’s and Wenger’s. Frosted cupcakes, tarts, nut-embellished Danishes, creamy tiramisu and cheesecakes adorn the shelves. Of these, we tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Lemon Tart. Whereas we’d skip the tart {it was too egg-y}, the cheesecake was pretty satisfactory, and would have been perfect if the base was a little more buttery.
So, We're Saying
La Bonte is a quaint little cafe, ideal for an intimate meeting which involves coffee and a muffin but nothing beyond that, really. They’re doing a winter special hot chocolate which you may want to check out soon. And yes, taking fresh bread loaves home is always a great idea.
