You’re out of smokes, and it’s post-midnight. Everything is shut, and you need that one last cigarette before you sleep. All hope is not lost, fellow smoker. Here are five places you could head to get your fix.

Yashwant Place

Right next to the petrol pump leading up to Yashwamt Rai Place there exists a mecca for late-night travellers. There are delicious paranthas {INR 50 each}, wonderful chai {INR 10} , and most importantly cigarettes! If you’re also hungry, or hankering for chai, this is one of the ideal places to be.

24/7 Convenience Stores

I can’t tell you how many times a late night excursion has ended up at one of these 24/7 outlets. Whether you’re umm, hankering for some munchies, or are desperately in search for some sustenance in the form of cigarettes, you can’t go wrong with these convenience stores. Grab a nice cold drink, and some smokes. These stores are interspersed throughout the city, and they are god’s gift to late night dwellers.

In & Out

You will mostly find these stores at Petrol Pumps, and most of them do not stock cigarettes due to safety codes. But there are a few, who have within the safety standards, kept a stock of cigarettes, for their customers. The Nehru Place In & Out, is slightly beyond the petrol pump’s vicinity, and stocks most major brands, for example.

Jama Masjid

I’ve written about the wonderful butter chai one gets here before, but you also get kebabs, biryani post 4, and cigarettes all through the night. Taking a scenic walk through the lanes of Jama is just what you need sometimes. I admit, it’s a little far for most people, but at that time in the night, the red lights are few, and the traffic is very rarely a problem, so this becomes a valid option.

Kalindi Kunj

Perhaps, the strangest location in the list, there is a truck stop at the point where the highway meets with Kalindi, where one gets chai, cold drinks, chips, patties, and cigarettes. Why is this strange? Umm, well, the place looks as if closed, but if you knock at the shutters, there will either be a tiny boy’s, or an elder man’s, voice which greets you, and you can order what you need from them. The police chowki is right next door, so the place itself is quite safe, and the chai is decent.
