Ten-Second Takeaway

Some places are hidden gems, their scal a secret {erm, 7 acres!} and their opulence a surprise. A staycation here is called a pamper-cation and for good reason: Food, spa, food, tennis, bar and well, a plunge pool in every room.

Room With A View

The Lodhi may not give you hilly backgrounds or sandy beaches but it gives you a view of your very own pool.

The property is relatively vintage, the room size enviable and the tall bay windows overlook a mini pool just for you. You could also gaze at it from the tub, but who needs a tub when you have a pool all to yourself.

To make it sweeter, they can heat the pool on request! We’re talking 1350 sq. ft. broken into an office space, a bedroom, washroom and bath and the changing cove. If you’re not in the mood to plunge into the pool, there’s a balcony the length of the room to chill at, we suggest you make some wine plans here.

Room service is now on Segways, so don’t worry about where in the seven acres the kitchen is; your order will come hot and quick.

Pampered and How

Once you’ve absorbed the scale of the hotel, you will then marvel at the gym, salon and spa that runs across the basement; yes it’s that big and as tranquil as a basement can be. Don’t miss the art on the walls on the way to a choice of traditional Indian treatment and therapies, modern day international massage, scrubs and cleansing packages.

There’s also a hamam but most of us know it as a steam room. If you’re a gym buff then your pamper-cation need not pad on the pounds; they have a techno gym, yoga and pilates studios with qualified personal trainers to assist with exercise and body fitness regimes. A 50-metre climate controlled lap pool, three all-weather tennis courts and two air conditioned squash courts add to make your stay super fit.

And For Some Chow

After breakfast in bed, head to OTW {On the Waterfront} for lunch. We loved the dim sum-sushi combo, though they have food fests on quite often too. Make it a long lunch, the café overlooks a reflecting pool.

Grab something for tea from the Lodhi Bakery and keep your dinner plans for Elan, which is their Indian restaurant & bar with an alfresco courtyard ideal for the city’s winter. Don’t worry about overeating; between your private pool, a 60 minute massage and access to a techno gym, you’ll be more than fine.
