What Makes It Awesome

With the cold breeze making its way to Delhi and setting the path for winters, it's the perfect season to have hot aloo puris, kathi rolls, pav bhaji, dal ka halwa, masala chai and everything that's hot and spicy. This is that time of the year when street food looks all the more tempting and hunger attacks are more than usual. All the swanky restaurants offering the best of International food can get slightly blurry in comparison to the Indian Street Food. To appease my temptation for having lip-smacking street food, we went to this restaurant called The Masala trail at Ansal Plaza.

Their golgappas were absolutely delectable, loved eating them. Their bhel poori and sev poori was simply mouth-watering because of their unique flavour. Also, their pao-bhaji was luscious, to say the least. Their chai is also a must try. The ambience of the spot is quite enticing, and overall the restaurant is spacious and decently lit. When it comes down to their service, it's really efficient and the pricing here won't burn a hole in your pocket.

What Could Be Better?

Food could have been slightly more spicy and flavourful. The Dilli 6 ka banta was a homemade drink {mix of Sprite and Soda}, not offering the authentic drink. Also, the servers should know the menu thoroughly so as to help the customers if and when required.

Anything Else?

Their menu is split into four - north, south, east and west. North has options like golgappe, purani Dilli ke bhalla papri, shahi raj kachori, Ashok Vihar ke matara kulcha {my personal favourite} and purani Dilli ke chhole bature. East has choices like the very popular Kolkata jhal muri & Chowrangee paneer kathi roll. West has options like Gujarati dabeli pav, Mumbai sev puri, Chowpatty bhel puri, vithal ka vada pav and Mumbai ka ragda pattice. South has choices like mini idli sambhar and ghee, sambhar vada, dahi vada, rasam papad and much more.
