Get A Room
The Lemon Tree property at Manesar comprises three different varieties of rooms: Executive, deluxe and studio. The executive rooms are the most basic ones, with two single beds or one double one and a bathroom {with a shower}. The studio rooms have a lounging area in addition to the bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom with a bathtub. The deluxe is pretty much identical to the studio room, but with the addition of a Jacuzzi.
We opted for a studio room and found it to be super spacious and comfortable. It also came with its own little balcony complete with a table and four chairs, overlooking the greens. With free Wi-Fi, a bathtub {switch on the geyser at least half an hour before you want to use this}, room service, and a TV {though they didn’t have any English channels}, it’s a pretty sweet place to escape to for a weekend getaway.
Get A Massage
The hotel’s spa is run by Tattva and thus, all the products here are Ayurvedic. We signed up for a Vanilla Nutmeg Smoothie, which is a body polish scrub. Marina, the masseuse here, has mad skills when it comes to kneading you into a state of relaxation. This, paired with the beautiful fragrance of vanilla, makes for an hour well-spent, we think. The scrub is very granulated though; you may want to sign up for the Oriental back massage or the Travel Energizer if you don’t like it rough. It did leave the skin feeling super soft and smelling delicious, so we’d say that little bit of hurt is worth it.
Another treatment worth getting is the hair spa. Though not as fancy as what you may be used to {Ayurvedic products, after all}, we felt it made the hair feel very smooth and soft, for a few days. And yes, all guests can use the steam room, complimentary.
Get Some Grub
The highlight, when it comes to food, at Lemon Tree Tarudhan Valley is easily breakfast. The kitchen staff puts up a lavish buffet filled with an assortment of bread, fresh fruit, cereal, a live egg station, south Indian favourites such as dosas and idlis, sausages, cutlets, flavoured yogurts and more filling dishes such as lamb stew. Along with a range of fresh juices, tea and coffee, of course.
They do a buffet for both lunch and dinner comprising a selection of Indian, continental and Oriental fare. Or you can be lazy and order in, like we did. We were pretty impressed with their Oriental concoctions, especially the chilli river sole and the tilla kulfi with a large bowl of fresh fruit.
Things To Do
The hotel is most known for its golf course and from what we saw of it, we think it’s gorgeous. So if you’re a golfer, we suggest bringing all your clubs and balls and waking up early in the morning and scoring a seat on your ride {their golf carts can seat up to six – seven people}. Might be worth your while to check your father in, if you’ve been looking for a good present for him and don’t want to gift him his 103rd tie.
Apart from the greens, you can chill at the pool or work it at the gym- both of these have free access for all guests.
The hotel is not super swanky, but we’re bookmarking it for a quick weekend getaway just to get away from it all for two days, without spending too much time in the car. And the service is excellent.
