Unfortunately, we can’t get Bombay’s beach to Delhi so Bombay Bar’s got the next best things: Bollywood, food and a typical retro, Bombaiya bar feel. Just a week-old, head here for offbeat cocktails and a taste of the city’s ever-so-famous street food. If you like partying to filmy music, even better.

Khan You Beat This?
Call us typical but we love it when a cocktail inspired by Shahrukh’s favourite drink, coffee, makes it to our table mixed with a good amount of vodka {it’s called Badshah’s Journey, in case you’re wondering}. The other stars on the drinks menu, one with gin and berries and another one with Jim Beam, star anise and absinthe are also definite contenders for the supportive cast.
In terms of food, we chose to stick to the things that make the city: vada pao and pao bhaji. The buns accompanying both were buttered to perfection. The bhaji was a sea change from the regular Dilli type stuff we’re used to and the vada pao was an absolute treat… Not an overdose of chilli but just the right blend of well coordinated masalas. Follow up with rose scented chicken tikka that’s nicely charred and not overdosing on pepper {the vegetarians will like the paneer tikka}.
And ohh, the masala peanuts. We bet you won’t stop till you’ve eaten them all.
Coffee With Karan & Karishma?
The make up room lights on the teal ceiling and the framed photos of film stars will evoke that quintessential Bombay feel. And, the thick velvet curtains and sofas will make you feel like you’re ready to strike a seedy mafia deal.
In keeping with the theme, everything’s in sync right from the names of the cocktails to the Bollywood tracks they play. The menu features the city’s popular culinary staples from Khaogali to Zaveri Bazaar so everything from Juhu Beach’s Tawa Pulao to Chowpati’s chakhna makes an appearance.
So, in case you’re tired of the CP bars that look like clones, try this bar for chilled out evenings and nights of mad partying. Before you set foot outside, make sure you’ve ended your meal with their phirni.
Salaam Bombay.
