The thought of The Grub Fest instantly makes us want to call all our foodie friends for a day of unbridled food debauchery. This year, though, we’re calling a lot of other folks who’re not just into hot dogs, pizzas and beer. These friends include ones who like picnicking in the park, those who enjoy acoustic music and even those who love watching movies or learning a thing or two about mixing potent spirits {can’t say no to alcohol, now, can we?}.

The Gurugram edition this weekend {Feb 2-4} is back in a cooler format, and we’re going to tell you exactly why you must get out of bed and be here despite all the distance.

The Music Will Be Epic

Whether you’re a music snob or not, the line-up will have something for you. Through the three days, they’ve got solo artists like Nucleya, Sejal Morris, Harrdy Sandhu and Tatva K along with bands like Local Train and popular duos like Hari & Sukmani… A mix that’s got every genre covered.

We’re really looking forward to leaving office early to eat dim sums and listening to Dhruv Vishwanath on Friday evening {5pm-6:30}. We’ll obviously stick it out till 8pm for Zaeden.

There Are Food Competitions & Mixology Classes

Want to steal the show at the next house party? There’s a cocktail-mixing session by master mixologist Ivan Kutskevic from Bohca, or you can sign up for a cooking demo with Velvet Room’s head chef, Saif who’ll spill the beans on what it takes to whip up some unusual dishes.

All this will be happening at the Grub Theatre. So, stop by and go back home feeling a bit like a cooking genius yourself. Or, if not the classes, you can watch movies like Big Night and Julie & Julia from 1-3pm every day.

P.S. There’s a hot-dog eating competition, too!

You'll Get To Enjoy Picnics & A Jukebox Stage

The folks are creating a Central Park at the Ambience Mall lawns, where people will be able to roll out their mats and picnic. The zone will have food trucks and a special stage called Jukebox with electronic music DJs. The kids, meanwhile, can run wild and free at Kidzania, so nothing comes in the way of you and that massive burger.

If you need more stuff to do, hit up the small flea market area.

A Cool Shopping Pop-Up's Happening Too

Eaten too much? Obviously. Don’t worry, some walking around the lifestyle zone, andbrowsing through products will help minimise the guilt. Go meet the good folks at Heads Up For Tails, Lazy Jojo, Kala Chowk, Hats Off Accessories, The Love Hook, Offshoot Books and others.

Don't Forget All The Food

All said and done, a food festival should always be about food. And, with The Grub Fest, you can almost take it for granted. To give you a trailer, they have Potbelly, Wok To Walk, iHop, Ministry Of Beer, Bombakery, Fat Lulu’s, Fab Cafe, Karim’s, Koyla Kabab and lots more will set up shop.

To put this into perspective, they’re looking at some 80 odd brands that will serve 4,750 portions of food on an average every hour!
