Dripping with grandeur, Lutyens Cocktail House on Janpath, restaurateur Priyank Sukhija’s endeavour, is inspired by and also meant as a tribute to the British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. The restaurant is done up in classy hues comprising wooden chairs, plush leather sofas, sparkling mirrors adorning the walls and of course, a huge collection of cigars.
The menu takes bar food to a whole new level. Appetisers include innovations like Truffle Fries, Wasabi Prawn and Bacon Popcorn. The mains, adhering to modern European cuisine, include a selection of pastas, risottos, burgers, crepes, pies and grills. End on a sweet note with Litchi Semifreddo, Lemon Cream Tart, Pear Crumble or the more conventional Chocolate box.
The cocktails however {obviously} are the main attraction. The Apple Cigar {whiskey, clover, smoked candy, apple juice} is a hit amongst whiskey lovers. The Summertini {a concoction involving gin, cucumber, sage, cinnamon vodka wash} makes for the perfect drink given the unmerciful Delhi heat.
Enjoy cocktails and, if you’re up for it, a meal, while old school tracks keep the ambience lively.
