Born out of the idea of sorting out the perennial problem of finding fresh meats and good quality at that, without having to haggle with butchers at 6am, Licious is a start-up which relieves you of those woes. Started by Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta after they had trouble sourcing fresh produce in the city, the duo decided to centralise the system which takes care of procuring all sorts of protein.
Fresh cuts include fish (mackerel, seer, prawn, sea bass and even red snapper among others), lamb in the form of chops, mince, curry cuts, and chicken either whole, chopped or leg pieces. We love that they even deliver marinated meats – to either cater to your impromptu party or just those looking for a daily quick fix. Caribbean Chicken, Fish Tikka (with mustard marinade), Lucknowi Mutton Galouti Kebab are all on offer. But out unequivocal vote goes to the Thyme and Paprika Roast chicken. Perfectly marinated, all we had to do was pop it into the oven for a quick grilling session and voila! Dinner was ready. The Peri Peri Chicken legs too don’t disappoint and we found they worked very well on the barbecue grill as well as to cook on a pan. The packing is vacuum sealed, labelled and temperature controlled to suit the meat, and they even guarantee a 90-minute delivery time. But only if the product is in stock though. You also have the option of pre-ordering products, which is mostly for exotic meats (like blue crab), and certain poultry.
