This diner at the COMMONS looks like a modern atelier with its carefully curated artisanal pieces and minimalistic ambience. Trust us when we call this restaurant extraordinary, as soon as you enter the buzzing array of restaurants AKA Commons, you’ll spot Mary Lou’s. The organic free-flowing design on the wall uses colour and light therapy to soothe the customer into feeling happy and warm from the inside. We absolutely love their interiors and the careful consideration that is given to a large customer base, from an outdoor kids seating space which has been constructed in a manner that would invoke a sense of independence in kids, and a sense of relaxation, to the indoor sitting that is created as such that it can easily accommodate various group sizes.
It takes you on a nostalgia trip with the food reminding you of a heartily prepared meal. The all-day diner serves American, Asian, and European-inspired food, and has plenty of options for every palette. Kickstarting our recommendations with starters we would suggest you try the Carrot Hummus with root chips, followed by fish and chips. And if you love your chicken, then you must try their mini chicken in a blanket, which is not your regular chicken starter but is wrapped in baked dough. Moving on to their main meals, you’ll have plenty of options from risotto to plant-based burgers. We absolutely loved their Fettuccine Pink Sauce Pasta paired with their Garlic and Rosemary Bread, glazed with Mary Lou’s Olive oil; the flatbreads, and their juicy crispy chicken burger that is served with fresh cheese. For drinks, we would recommend you try their signature Lou Lou Yuzu and Mary Boo. To end things on a sweeter note, we absolutely love their Bento cakes and sometimes go there just to get the Bento cakes on the go.
