Don't Leave Mayur Vihar: Here Are 5 Cafes To Chill At In Your Area

The information in this post might be outdated

Mayur Vihar has seen a rise in the number of cafes recently, and we’re loving the variety it has to offer! From themed cafes to killer burger joints, Mayur Vihar has it all. If you find yourself in the area with the squad, here’s where you should go.

1. Freakin' Beans

Freakin Beans reminds us of our college days; holidays, summer crushes and wasted afternoons. So, if you, like us, are feeling too stingy to spend big, visit here. Friends from Mayur Vihar had been raving about this outdoor place close to the Mayur Vihar metro station, whose Hazelnut Mocha makes the cut in every respect; with the right amount of cold, sugar and caffeine kick. But what really takes the cake is their cheese toast. It manages to not crumble and will make you realise that there’s indeed a lot of magic that can be created with just a humble slice of bread and cheese. Not too grand, this place is for the days you just want to lounge around outside while catching up on gossip with the squad over multiple glasses of coffee.

2. Playing Cup Cafe

This eatery is Kindergarten-classroom-meets-cool-shake-joint. It’s peppy and perfect; if you’re not looking to be out in the rains/sun while indulging in a friendly match. The menu is a mix of sandwiches, smoothies, shakes, coffee and iced teas! The board games mean that you can kill a lot of time under their super-effective AC. The bit that really takes the cake here? You might lose at the foosball table, but you’ll never be a loser in the bill department. The maximum you’ll be spending here is INR 200 per head {approximately} and that, too, if you go over order.

3. The Delhi Munchery

We’re suckers for outdoor spaces, and this one comes with gorgeous fairy lights and friendly dogs, but even their small indoor space is quite cosy and, once you’ve taken your seats, you can get ready for their amazing rolls. The butter chicken roll here is a flavourful delight, but even the vegetarian nizami soya chaap roll is loved by both the herbivores and meat-eaters equally. Great food and a good setting is really all you need to continue conversations with your friends and this place has both.

4. Sandwich Factory

Sandwich Factory, located in Mayur Vihar Phase-2, is famous for its different styles of garlic bread. The staff suggested we try the cheesy bruschetta and Mexican pizza, and both tasted great. The bruschetta was soft and fresh, and the pizza had a nice, thin crust; neither too crispy nor too soft. The seating space here might be slightly tiny, but the young, colourful vibe that comes in thanks to the decor will keep you seated here for a while.

5. Games v/s Cafe

Games v/s Cafe is a hidden gaming gem in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 where you can enjoy good ol’ Maggi, popcorn, and fries while you lose yourself in a world of video games. If you’re looking for a chill spot to showcase your Counter Strike or FIFA skills while sipping on an iced tea and munching on different kinds of Maggi, your search ends here. Games v/s Cafe has got you covered with its PlayStations, a humble menu, and good vibes all around. Head to Games v/s Cafe with your buddies to hang out with some good food on the table, PlayStation controllers in hand, and you’ll have yourself a day well spent.
