What's Happening

An exhibition celebrating the creative reach of the handicraft of Punjab, Mela Phulkari is a movement that celebrates and unifies the art, craft and culture of Punjab in its true essence and spirit. It’s an organic extension 1469 Original, a conceptual brand that showcases Punjab through its eclectic range of products that reflect Punjab and Punjabiyat in every piece.

The theme of the event this year will be 'Jaago Punjab', a movement that implores Punjabi youth to realise the beauty and importance of their art and culture. The event starts on February 9, however,  February 10 will see the cultural show at the Amphitheatre IHC, Delhi at 3 PM. In attendance will be filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, singers Harshdeep Kaur, and Jasbir Jassi. The Art Show will be at the Open Court Palm Gallery with spectacular installations revolving around the theme of Jaago Punjab. Highlight of the cultural afternoon are the ‘Sardars of Sangrur’ and 'Sangrur Di Mutiyaran', folk artist group who will play 21 traditional Punjabi instruments.

The art installations will be at the Open Court Palm Gallery. However, the cultural performance will take place in the Amphitheatre.
