Memorable Moments Package at ITC Grand Bharat

What Makes It Awesome?

Here's the scene. You drive for an hour from South Delhi to Gurgaon, and the scenery changes from the giant glass buildings with the metro snaking along, to the second phase of residential complexes under construction, to the third phase of a much more natural image of cows wandering, mud huts, green fields, interspersed with hills, to finally the architectural delight that is the ITC Grand Bharat.

You enter and there are green circles you drive around. On your left is a golf course. Little golf carts at the entrance tempt you to explore the grounds on wheels. A grand Mewati welcome meant 6 men dressed formally play a fanfare as you walk up the steps to the reception desk.
And all this is before you check in.

So basically my husband and I were here to experience the one night's Memorable Moments Package at the Grand Bharat. We had a suite with a semi-private pool. Though you could opt for a room with a private terrace instead as well.

The package comes with a welcome drink at the Peacock Bar, a candlelit 3-course dinner at The India Room, breakfast at the Arravali Pavilion, and a 60min Kaya Kalp spa massage ( for 2 adults).

We also enjoyed their game room for some table tennis, foosball, and carom sessions. They have squash, Segway, basketball, and a bunch more activities in their Shataranj room (game area). They also have
: a swimming pool,
: a clubhouse, and golf course
: a spa with steam and sauna and more swimming pools,
: and we saw another swimming pool under construction near the open-air amphitheatre.

So what was my favourite takeaway from this water body filled architecture? It was the food.
Chef Atanu made our dinner both savoury and delightful. European cuisine made with authenticity! The chef told us about the French menu he was developing for an upcoming event from 21st to 25th March in collaboration with the French Embassy, and it sounds wonderful! For the sole fish dish, he made us salmon as well, so we could try both flavours. When we could not decide between the lasagna and the risotto, he surprised us by making both. A true connoisseur with a gift for sharing flavours.

And the breakfast buffet was no less! Full of a variety of sweet, and savoury foods, like meats and cheeses, idlis, dosa and all with 6 kinds of chutneys, a make your own ramen station, a Boulangerie of sweet sweet cakes, croissants, custard-filled pies and more, a freezer of yoghurts and cold coffees with hazelnut, cinnamon and other flavours, a host of fresh-cut fruits and much much more. And everything is labelled so you know if it's gluten free or contains nuts etc.

Definitely an interesting day and night of extravagance. A bit expensive, so more for special occasions. But it sure makes for an interesting city getaway.

What Could Be Better?

The buffet can have smaller helping so we can taste more things. (Never thought I would wish for smaller helpings, but what can I say, we like variety)

Also the sound proofing in the suites could be better. We could hear the cupboard doors opening and closing from the suite upstairs. And the water fountains etc while beautiful, make a lot of sound as well. Which can be pleasant, but a bit too much sound when constant.

I used to be inspired by stories until I realized a storyteller made them so. Then I began to be inspired by storytellers.
