Go Middle East With Café Five In Gurgaon

The information in this post might be outdated

Ten Second Takeaway:

A sweet little café in Phase V, Gurgaon that serves Middle Eastern food favourites, perfect for medium-sized hunger.

It’s Lebanese, if you please.

Café Five has a limited menu of classic Lebanese dishes, like fresh Tabouleh and Fatoush salads with Sumac, dips like Moutabel and Tzatziki, and sides like pickled Middle Eastern vegetables, all of which come as part of their mezze or pita platters, or individually, if you please. Their lightly grilled chicken is packed in pita pockets or served with herbed rice, but if you’re looking for shawarma, this isn’t where you’ll find it. Café Five does more café style nibbles rather than fixes for serious hunger.

Hmm, is there hummus?

Of course there is! Somewhere along the line, hummus and pita have become the equivalent of our masala peanuts. Always a great snack, at any time of day. Café Five does the regular kind, as well as flavours like Spicy Roasted Garlic and Three Pepper, all of which are freshly made every day and to be consumed before the night falls, since they contain no preservatives.

LBB likes it for…

Fresh, well-flavoured and well-prepared food that’s perfect for in-between meal hunger and doesn’t make us feel like we’ve cheated.
