Bao and Wow

If you are a seafood lover, the Laksa Soup {seafood soup with coconut base served in a coconut shell} should be the first thing you order. It has the right balance of everything – sweetness from the coconut milk and saltiness from the seafood. From their range of Designer Sushi, we tried the Spicy Salmon Roll {salmon, avocado, jalapenos, spicy mayonnaise topped with, again, salmon, and tempura flakes}, which we’re definitely going back for.

Moving on to their baos – the Cracking Pork Belly Bao {slow braised pork belly in Hoisin sauce with scallion and crushed peanuts} is amazing. The pork was super tender, super juicy and flavourful. The Panko Crusted Chicken Bao {along with lettuce and cucumber and topped with spicy Szechuan mayo} is a good option, but a little on the bland side.

Among their range of dim sums, the Chicken Gyoza dim sum was just about okay, but the star, hands down, was the Prawn & Chive. The spinach covered dim sums were interesting, but failed to impress us too much on the taste front.

If you’re looking for a wholesome filling meal, the Chicken Claypot is a great pick.

P.S. We also loved the Kimchi made out of fried Wonton sheet strips and tossed in spices {an ideal snack with a glass of wine or a cocktail}.

Potions

From wines to beer, they have it all. You can also ask them to prepare something specifically for you. Might we recommend  the non-alcoholic Orange Bloom {Orange + cranberry juice, lemon and loads of crushed iced}.

We’re bookmarking this one for an evening of fine wine and light Asian fare at home.
