What Is It?

A lot of our college years have been spent discussing peace and utopia at Kunzum and now when it’s offering us a chance to hop on to its luxury van for a Rajasthan tour, we’re looking at revisiting those memories. The guys at Kunzum claim that the rains have a magical effect on the desert regions of Shekhawati, Jaisalmer and Bikaner. So it’s organising a five-day trip {August 11-15} for everyone who’s hoping to get out of Delhi on the long weekend and keen on seeing an unconventional side of the desert.

Who Is It For?

Everyone who wants to see the lesser-known, less-explored side of the desert. Luxury and history come together in a great fashion here and if you’re into photography, you’re going to dig this offbeat excursion – it gets that extra zing thanks to Kunzum folks’ insights into these places.

The vacation will have you visiting old havelis and bustling bazaars of Shekhawati along with lakes and sunset views at Gadsisar. You’ll head to the abandoned Kuldhara Village where you and your fellow travellers can roll down sand dunes or perch atop camels to walk you around. When you take off for Bikaner on your fourth day, you might even get to go boating on Kolayat Lake.

All this will be followed by a trip to Junagarh Fort and the city’s many markets. If you’re still not tired, you could opt for a temple visit as well.

Oh, and you’ll be staying at stunning heritage properties like this and this.

Why Should I Go For It?

The caravan’s leaving on the August 15 long weekend and we bet you have no concrete plans yet. If you don’t want to be the last one to plan a trip {be ready to pay a lot more thanks to the rush}, we suggest you start calling your travel buddies.

If you aren’t the types who likes to play it by the rules, can also decide to drive on their own or choose different dates altogether.

Anything Else?

The cost on the trip including transport, accommodation and meals is INR 24,500 but if you book before July 10 or convince three more friends to come along, it goes down by 1-2k per person.
