Tucked away in the beautiful Tirthan Valley, the Mudhouse Experiential Hostel is literally made of mud and stone and can be best described as a home away from home, humble and simple with residents equally contributing to the hostel’s chores. It was started by Rahul Kumar, a traveller and a filmmaker who wanted to interact with fellow travellers and creative people.
Mudhouse Experiential Hostel caters to exactly that, imbibing the spirit of community living while allowing creativity amongst its residents to flow freely. They’ve hosted sessions of the Himalayan Writer’s Fellowship, they have stand-up-comedy and open mic nights, and also artists’ meets. It’s a great opportunity for collaborations, exploring the gorgeous surroundings (their days are spent trekking and fishing) and indulging in some unadulterated, stimulating conversation.
So, if you’re in the need for some fresh inspiration and looking to get away from the maddening city for a few days, head over to these guys. Make sure you book your tickets two weeks in advance (if you’re a large group).
Tariffs at Mudhouse Experiential Hostel start at INR 700 per night.
