After opening to a packed hall previously, we know so many people who couldn’t watch Mughal-e-Azam: The Musical the last time it came to the city. The popular demand is bringing the show again, April 6 onwards.
Director Feroz Abbas Khan’s creative genius has recreated this epic Madhubala and Dilip Kumar film in a way that resonates with folks who’ve seen the film, and even with those that were too young to appreciate its beauty until well after its theatrical release. We’d say, take your parents or just go with your gang if you’re a Bollywood buff and into grand, theatrical performances in general.
The sheer grandeur of this production should be a compelling enough reason. The costumes (designed by Manish Malhotra), storytelling, music and set-up, all add to the experience of watching this age-old story come alive once again.
