NDMC recently announced that “it has been decided to open parks and gardens of NDMC area for public for limited purpose of walking, jogging and running on the walking tracks from May 21 till further orders.” They also announced the new timings for the parks which are 7 AM to 10 AM and 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. They’ve also opened up sporting facilities and golf courses for no contact games and activities only during 8AM to 6PM.

The parks included under the NDMC area are Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park and Talkatora Garden. They’ve also placed some restrictions on who is permitted to enter the park; people over the age of 65 and children under the age of 10 are not allowed to enter, nor are those suffering from chronic diseases. The people who visit the park are expected to follow the social distancing cues. While those of us who were in the habit of morning walks can now go back for just that, the order also said that open gym, yoga and other such activities will not be allowed in the park.

For sporting facilities, they’ll be regulating the entry and exit of visitors and you’ll have to book in advance for a time slot if you’d like to go. Activities including tennis, badminton, golf, shooting, archery are open for members. All members will have to carry whatever equipment they’ll require, mask, gloves, sanitiser and the Aarogya Setu App on their phone.
