Correct us if we're wrong, but every time you travel to a new city, you ask for a bar/restaurant/any place that will feed you, with a view. There's something about an aerial view that makes any meal/drink that much better. Ever noticed how Delhi doesn't really have any penthouses or sky-high terraces to boast? That's changed. Enter Sky Lounge Bar and Grill.
Launched late last month, the bar is situated in the less popular, sistine chapel reminiscent lobbied, The Royal Plaza Hotel. We're thinking Sky Bar could be their saving grace. Spread over 18,000 sq ft, on the ninetieth floor, it boasts views of Rajpath, Presidential Palace, India Gate and Connaught Place, thanks to its perfect location bang in the centre of the Capital. The bar itself is divided into separate spaces, connected by a walkway; one's named the Moon Bar and the other, The Presidential Lounge. As for interiors, expect a lot of LEDs, by which we mean LED furniture, back lights, and in-lit bars. The good news is, there's a separate bar for each section, each serving a menu equipped with all local favourites, every foreign liquor brand, and also classic cocktails.
Looks like Delhi finally has a roof-top bar. But one that we can be proud of? Only time will tell. Until then, the view warrants a visit. Quick, before it gets even colder.
