New in Town | Alkauser in DLF, La Bodega in Khan Market and Outback Bar and Grill in Gurgaon

Alkauser Opens in Gurgaon | We’re always happy to hear about cross-border sharing, which is why we were thrilled to learn that Alkauser has finally found its way to Gurgaon, replete with its super popular menu of kababs, rolls and Mughlai delights. The brilliant recipes are truly a family secret — legend has it that the original recipe for the Kakori Kabab {with a mind-boggling 52 ingredients!} was developed in 1869 by Nabbu Mian, who passed the recipe to his son Nallu Mian, who in turn passed the recipe on to his son Istiqa Ahmed. We’re not done — he in turn passed the recipe to his son Ashfaq Ahmed {okay now we’re done}, who has been running this very successful Delhi chain since 1990. The humble restaurant front doesn’t quite do justice to the legacy, but drive up to this Sikanderpur joint and take your pick of a very promising take-away meal. Alkauser delivers within a 3 km radius for now, and plans to expand its kingdom and its delivery zone in the near future.

La Bodega opens in Khan Market | Delhi has the Orient covered, with Europe second in line, and American Fast Food an almost diet staple. It seems like the city is looking beyond, and has just {re}opened its arms to good ol' Mexico. Fresh on the food bandwagon, Mexican Antojeria and Bar, La Bodega, opens its doors to service! Although it has been operational for just about a week, it is still getting things in order, so we would recommend waiting just a while before you make a visit. Spread across two floors, with a terrace provision {oh hey Delhi winter}, the inside of La Bodega, with clean white walls and light wooden furniture, doesn't exactly scream Mexico, so they let their food do the talking. For starters, the resident chef Raul Martinez Ramirez is from Mexico, so you can expect authenticity with the food and flavours. The menu has on offer a mixed variety of Mexican food, ranging from street food to speciality dishes, and much to our delight - Margaritas and Daiquiris. What they seem most proud of though, is the specially designed cocktail menu, with drinks inspired from Latin America and Mexico. Homemade breads, tacos, nachos, and burritos, as expected, have all made it to the menu. What steals the spotlight though is the exhaustive line-up of main course options. From slow-cooked pork, duck leg and handmade tortillas, to tostadas, quesadillas and different renditions of guacamole, La Bodega is currently owning Mexican food in Delhi, and you don't want to miss that.  As off now, they only have a license to serve beer and wine, so you'll have to wait on the rest.

Outback Bar and Grill opens in Gurgaon |  For all you Gurgaon residents, Leisure Inn has just the place for you to enjoy an open air bar and grill — Outback. Set under a giant Margosa tree, Outback has a massive outdoor bar and grill restaurant serving up what seems to be a never ending array of grilled meats, and seafood and vegetarian specialities. Your meal here is complemented by a giant TV screen, so you can stay ahead on all the different sporting events of the season. Predominantly Indian flavours and recipes, the menu is a curated list of Chef Abhishek Mathur's signature dishes, and also focusses on a flexitarian section {for those who aren't sure of their food orientation yet}. Don't miss the Mutton ka Halwa, Ghungroo Kebab and the Imli ki Macchi.
